Usability test: Efficiently introducing the user's point of view
Testing a product in the usability lab very effectively discloses usability problems and problems affecting the user experience. Subjects representing target customers perform tasks according to a realistic scenario. The test is recorded and analyzed.We plan, perform and analyze the testing at our lab in Zurich or anywhere in the world using our mobile equipment. The usability lab of ergonomie & technologie (e&t) GmbH was established in 1993 and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed with Switzerland's most experienced crew of usability experts. We invite the clients' developers, designers and product managers to experience the testing in the observers room separated from the testing room by a one-way mirror. This experience has proven to be priceless for anybody involved in the development, because it provides a new angle - the user's point of view.
Why usability testing?
In the usability test, subjects work with a prototype or mock-up without any external help and following pre-defined tasks. The method is highly efficient in suggesting ways on how to improve the usability.
